Lucky you!!! I never had a grampa like that. My paternal grandfather died when my dad was just 3, and my maternal grandfather died when I was young...I didn't have that kind of loving relationship with him, unfortunately.

I loved reading these stories...I really did. You'll have to remind me...where in PA? My dad grew up in Ridgeway. I have NO idea where that is exactly. It's been years and years since I have been back, though I have quite a desire to do so.

Happy (belated) birthday to your pap!

Tears of happy memories of my Pap streaming down my cheeks.

Summers spent with Pap and Nan.

A man who didn't ever seem to age until a heart attack and seemed to get younger again before emphysema set in.

A man who lived to put smiles on his grandchildren's faces.

It's been 6 years since he went Home.

I know this was about your Pap, but I thank-you for the memories of mine you put in my heart today.

What a blessing to have a "Pap" like that! I want to be remembered that way. The pictures are priceless.

I hope you are enjoying your snow and staying warm...I would love to share my chocolate!

Prayers continue for you! :)

You are one blessed lady. And oh how i can relate. I miss my Grandpas so much, but I'm so thankful for the storehouse of memories I have of them being the faithful and lovely laugh-inducing men they were. I can't wait to see them again.

And please, don't ask me to do the math ever again. I don't do that :)

Warm fuzzies; that's what you are describing! ♥ I'm seeing in your writing about your Pap just what I missed. No memories of sitting in a grandparent's lap and feeling the love you describe; most of my grandparents having passed before I was born and the grandmother I did know was an invalid. You are so blessed with these memories!!
